Severe Thunderstorm Watch: SoCal Weather: Storm Brings Heavy Rain, Triggers Evacuation Orders and Flash Flooding

"A powerful storm system is bringing unprecedented rain and tornado threats to the West Coast, leaving residents on high alert. The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for much of Southern California, with flash flood warnings in place for recent burn scar areas.
As the storm system moves across the region, residents in Los Angeles and surrounding areas are bracing for the worst. 'An isolated tornado and wind-damage threat will be possible Tuesday morning through midday along the coast in southern California,' warned forecasters at the National Weather Service.
Meanwhile, in Phoenix, a severe storm warning was issued for parts of the city, with heavy rain and gusty winds causing power outages and flash flooding. 'The Valley continues to be under the threat of flash flooding, as severe thunderstorms are rolling through the Phoenix metro area,' said Holly Bock, a meteorologist with AZFamily.
The storm system has also brought significant rainfall to Los Angeles County, with over an inch of rain recorded in some areas. 'This is the first significant storm of the season, and it's brought rain, the threat of thunderstorms, flooding and more to Los Angeles,' said Jonathan Lloyd, a meteorologist with NBC Los Angeles.
